The Ultimate Chips & Drips Trio

·

The Ultimate Chips & Dips Trio for your next friend gathering! I’m showing you how to take your guacamole to the next level, make a one-blender wonder pineapple salsa, and a high protein French onion dip that is creamy perfection.

How to Make the BEST Guacamole:

The key here is charring the garlic cloves while the skin is still on over a gas stovetop or grill to help deepen the flavors, allowing them to become smoker and more enchanted as the garlic sits.

  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Avocados, ripe
  • 1-2 Roma Tomatoes, diced
  • ½ small Red Onion, finely diced
  • 3 tbsp. Fresh Cilantro, chopped
  • 1 Jalapeno Pepper, seeds removed and finely diced
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • 1-2 tsp. Dan’O Original Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp. Graza Extra Virgin Olive Oil

After charring the garlic cloves over the grill or a gas stovetop burner for 1 minute, you'll let cool before peeling off the skins and finely mincing. Then, add to a large bowl and mash the ripe avocados with a fork. Add the remaining ingredients and mix just until combined. Serve with the chips to enjoy!

Can Guacamole be Made in Advance?

Absolutely! I would recommend adding the juice of a second lime and a generously pinch of salt to help preserve the freshness of the avocados (and keep them from turning brown).

How to Make a High Protein French Onion Dip:

This French onion dip is a beautiful combination of fresh chives, cream cheese, yogurt, and deeply caramelized onions. It's creamy, a little sweet, and overall delicious.

  • 1 large Sweet Onion, very thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp. Butter
  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 6 oz. softened Cream Cheese
  • 4 tbsp. Fresh Chives, chopped, divided
  • 2 tsp. Dan’O Original Seasoning
  • ½ tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Crispy Fried Onions, for garnishing

After you've deeply caramelized your onions in the better, you'll add to a food processor with the softened cream cheese, yogurt, 3 tablespoons freshly chopped chives, seasonings, and olive oil. Pulse until well combined. Transfer to a serving dish to garnish with the crispy fried onions and remaining chives. Serve with the chips to enjoy!

How to make Quick Caramelized Onions:

A big tip I've discovered over the years to help speed up Caramelized Onions is using the water method. Once they've sautéed in the butter until slightly brown (about 5-6 minutes), you'll add 1 tablespoon water and stir with a wooden spatula until the water has dissolved. Repeat this process over medium high heat until deeply caramelized.

How to Make Pineapple Salsa:

This is one of my favorite salsas to make when having guests over, because you make it in a blender with no mess!

  • ½ Red Onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 ½ cups chopped Pineapple, ripe
  • 1 pint Cherry Tomatoes
  • 2-3 Scallions, ends trimmed
  • 1 Jalapeno Pepper, seeds removed
  • ¼ cup Fresh Cilantro
  • 2 tsp. Dan’O Original Seasoning
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 1 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

While you can just blend all the ingredients until desired texture, you can also finely chop the ingredients so it's more chunky!

Each of these dips can be made in advance up to 3 days. For the French Onion Dip, I recommend reheating on the stovetop over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, until warmed through (like queso).
