These Air Fryer Churros are crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, and have a flavor that no one can resist! Freshly baked in the air fryer and tossed in a cinnamon-sugar mixture for a healthier dessert that's super easy to make at home.
What is a Churro?
Churros are a dessert traditional to Spain and Mexico. They are normally deep-fried dough that's been tossed in a cinnamon-sugar mixture, but taste just as delicious made healthier in the air fryer!
They're super fun for Cinco de Mayo desserts, Taco Tuesday desserts, or even weekend brunches!
Tips & Tricks for Making The Best Churros:
Pipe 4-inch long churros for the perfect snacking size.
Use a star-shaped tip for piping. I use a Wilton 1M Tip.
It's okay if little lumps of flour remain in the dough (it'll bake out).
Chill! Chill! Chill! the piped churros prior. Don't skip on this step.
Do not refrigerate the piped churros longer than 1 hour or they will dry out.
Immediately toss with the cinnamon sugar mixture, as it's easier for the mixture to stick when warm.
What to serve with churros?
Nutella
Chocolate Sauce
Dulce de Leche
Caramel Sauce
Whipped Cream
