Healthier Cheddar Bay Biscuits (Red Lobster Copycat)
They take 20 minutes to make, are fluffy, rich, cheddar-y, and taste a million times better made from scratch!
Ingredients

- 2 cups Flour
- 1 tbsp. Sugar
- 1 tbsp. Baking Powder
- 1 tbsp. Garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 3 tbsp. Unsalted Butter, sliced into tablespoon-size cubes
- 3 tbsp. Olive Oil
- 1 1/2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp. Parsley or Chives, freshly chopped
For the Garlic Butter Topping:
- 3 tbsp. Butter, melted, or Olive Oil
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
- 2 Garlic Cloves, finely minced or grated
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cayenne pepper. Add the garlic and stir to combine.
- Add the butter and olive oil. Using your hands, work the mixture together until crumb-like texture.
- Set aside 1/2 cup shredded cheddar.
- Add the buttermilk, 1 cup shredded cheddar, and chopped parsley. Stir to combine.
- Using 1/4-1/3 cup batter per biscuit, spread them out on the prepared pan.
- Add the remaining shredded cheddar on top of the biscuits.
- Bake for 13-16 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In the meantime, mix together the melted butter, chopped parsley, and minced garlic.
- Brush the mixture on top of the baked biscuits. Enjoy warm!
