Honey Garlic Salmon Melt

·

Lunch in under 15 minutes! As my grandma says, this Honey Garlic Salmon Melt takes will knock your socks off. It’s cheesy, creamy, salty, sweet. It’s high in protein and made without mayo… what more could you need? 😉

What is a salmon melt?

It's basically a tuna melt which is like an elevated grilled cheese! The canned or pouched salmon is mixed with yogurt or mayonnaise, fresh herbs, and other fresh ingredients for a creamy and crunchy combo that is pan cooked with cheese and sourdough bread.

How to make a salmon melt?

  1. Drain any liquids from the salmon pouch, then add the salmon in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Add the yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and honey. Mix well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. Layer the sourdough slices with the cheddar cheese, salmon mix, chopped spinach, and (optional) tomato slices.
  4. On a heated griddle, add a little butter or olive oil. Cook the sandwich 1-2 minutes on each side, until crispy and golden brown. Enjoy immediately!
