These Crispy Honey Sriracha Chicken Bites (Oven Baked or Air Fryer) are crispy yet tender, sweet yet tangy, and all around addicting! They can be made in the oven or air fryer for a quick and easy flavor-packed dinner. And paired with a Basil Dipping Sauce that can be made in the blender for a creamy component.
How to make crispy chicken bites in the oven or air fryer?
To Make the Chicken Bites: Preheat oven or air fryer to 400F. If using oven, line a large baking sheet pan with parchment paper.
Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces. In a large bowl, combine the chicken bites, beaten eggs and buttermilk. Let sit at least 10 minutes.
In a large tubberware or bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, salt, and paprika. Using a slotted spoon or fork, add the chicken bites into the panko mix and toss until the chicken is well coated in the crumbs.
Place the chicken on the air fryer racks or prepared sheet pan. Lightly drizzle with the olive oil.
For the Oven: Bake for 8-10 minutes, flip the chicken bites, then bake an additional 8-10 minutes. Until crispy and fully cooked inside.
For the Air Fryer: Bake for 4-5 minutes, slip the chicken bites, then bake an additional 4-5 minutes. If needed, bake longer until crispy and fully cooked inside.
How to make a Honey Sriracha Sauce for the chicken bites?
You'll need the following ingredients:
1/3 cup Honey
2-3 tbsp. Sriracha
1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
1 tbsp. Sesame Seeds
1/2 tsp. Garlic Granules, or garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger
1/2 tsp. Red Pepper Flakes
And then you'll to...
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium high heat.
Stir to combine and bring to a boil, them simmer for 4-5 minutes to thicken.
What to serve with the Crispy Honey Sriracha Chicken Bites?
I would serve them warm garnished with sesame seeds for added texture and depth to flavor, as well as thinly sliced green onions. And of course, I'm a HUGE sauce girly so I would serve it with my Homemade Basil Dipping Sauce.
How to make a Homemade Basil Dipping Sauce?
Ingredients you'll need...
1/2 cup Fresh Basil
1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
Juice of 2-3 Limes
2 Garlic Cloves
Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
Then you'll need to...
Combine all ingredients in a small blender or food processor to pulse until smooth.
Thin out texture with water.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Can you make these Honey Sriracha Bites with other sources of protein?
Yes! I would so make these with any of the following sources of lean protein:
Salmon
Mahi Mahi
Chicken Thighs
Chicken Breasts
How to store and reheat leftover chicken bites?
Store leftover chicken bites in an airtight container or Tupperware in the fridge up to 4 days. Reheat them in the oven at 400F for 5-6 minutes, until warmed through.
