One of my most asked questions is how to grill the perfect sirloin steak, so we’re doing just that! And it wouldn’t be right to keep it all to myself, so I created a small summer dinner party around with the steak served over a summery garden salad and other side dishes.
Ingredients you'll need:
1 lb. Whole Foods Market Sirloin Steak
Salt & Black Pepper
5 tbsp. Unsalted Butter, melted
2 tbsp. Fresh Herbs, finely chopped
(Optional) 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
How to Grill the Perfect Sirloin Steak:
Season both sides of the sirloin steak generously with salt and black pepper. Let rest at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
Preheat the grill to 450F-475F.
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, chopped herbs, and minced garlic. Set aside.
Add the seasoned steak directly on the hot grill racks to cook 3-8 minutes, brush with half of the melted butter mixture.
Flip and brush with the remaining melted butter mixture to cook an additional 3-8 minutes, depending on your desired doneness. I shoot for 130F internal temperature for medium steaks which is about 3-4 minutes on each side.
Remove the steaks to rest on a cutting board for at least 8 minutes before thinly slicing to serve!
Cherry Pie, or dessert of choice, with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Arugula Spring Salad
Chicken Salad with Tortilla Chips
My favorite way to serve steak is over an arugula salad with seasonal fruit and veggies like cherries, blackberries, cucumbers, shaved parmesan, beets, and so on. And then drizzling with a lemon vinaigrette (recipe below).
Steak Salad Lemon Vinaigrette:
1/3 cup 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/3 cup Aged Balsamic Vinegar, or apple cider vinegar
Juice of 1 Lemon
1 tbsp. Honey
Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
