Ingredients
Servings: 6
For the Honey Lime Butterflied Drumsticks:
- Sanderson Farms Chicken Drumsticks Value Pack
- ¼ cup BBQ Seasoning, or favorite chicken seasoning
- ½ cup Honey
- 1 Lime, juice and zest
- 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1” Fresh Ginger, grated
- Ranch, storebought or homemade (below)
For the High Protein Ranch:
- 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- ¼ cup Mayonnaise
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- (Optional) 1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp. Garlic Granules
- 1 tsp. Onion Powder
- 1 tbsp. Fresh Chives, chopped
- 1 tbsp. Fresh Dill, chopped
- Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- For the High Protein Ranch: Mix all ingredients together until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If time allows, set aside in the fridge for 30 minutes to help the flavors develop.
- For the Butterflied Drumsticks: Preheat the grill to 400F or medium-high heat.
- Mix the honey, lime zest, lime juice, grated garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.
- To butterfly the chicken drumsticks, you’ll cut 2-4 slits alongside the bone to reveal the meat inside. Season both sides generously with the seasoning. Repeat with remaining drumsticks.
- Place the drumsticks directly on the hot grills to cook 5-6 minutes, until golden and crisp.
- Use tongs to flip the chicken, then brush the chicken drumsticks with half of the honey lime sauce. Cook another 5-6 minutes, until golden and slightly charred.
- Flip over the drumsticks to brush the remaining honey lime sauce on the other side and cook an additional 1-2 minutes, until fully cooked and skin is crispy.
- Enjoy with the homemade or storebought ranch!
