Easy, Homemade Smash Burgers Recipe
These Homemade Smash Burgers are quick and easy to make. They fly off the grill within minutes so it's a great for feeding a crowd and hosting a summer bbq!
Ingredients
Servings: 4
- 1 lb. Ground Beef, preferably 80/20 or 85/15
- 1 ½ tsp. Fine Sea Salt
- ½ Yellow Onion, thinly sliced
- 4 slices Cheddar Cheese
- 1-2 tbsp. Burger Sauce of choice, such as Heluva Good! French Onion Dip
- Sliced Pickles
- 4 Brioche Burger Buns, storebought or homemade
Instructions
- Preheat griddle to medium high heat.
- Divide the meat into 4 balls, then place on the heated griddle.
- Season each burger with salt, then add the thinly sliced onions on top.
- Smash down with a spatula or burger press to ¼” thick. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until browned along the edges.
- (Optional) Drizzle lightly with olive oil.
- Flip the burgers, then add the cheese slices. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes, until cheese is melted.
- Layer the bottom burger bun with burger sauce, sliced pickles, then the burger patty. Sandwich with the top burger bun to enjoy!
