Air Fryer Chicken Shawarma
Shawarma is chicken marinated in a creamy yogurt with fresh aromatics and spices like cinnamon and cayenne, for a tangy and complex flavor. The meat is crispy along the edges but super tender and juicy. Perfect for pita pockets!
Ingredients

- Equipment: Cosori Air Fryer
- 2 lbs. Chicken Thighs or Breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 large Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1” Fresh Ginger, grated
- 3 tbsp. Olive Oil
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- 2 tsp. EACH: Salt, Black Pepper, Paprika, Ground Cumin, & Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
- Mix all the marinade ingredients together, then add the chicken and toss to coat. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes to overnight.
- Preheat the Cosori Air Fryer to 350F.
- Pile the marinated chicken into the air fryer basket to cover with foil, then press down firmly to compress.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until fully cooked inside.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing into thin pieces.
- Add back to the air fryer at 350F for 6-8 minutes for crispier chicken edges.
