The Ultimate Tuna Melt
These tuna melts are super easy to make for a healthy summer lunch, crunchy, creamy, high protein, loaded with antioxidants… the list of why you should make it could go on!
Ingredients
Servings: 2
- 4 slices Sourdough Bread
- 2-4 slices Colby Jack Cheese
- 1 Tomato, thinly sliced
- 2 cans Wild Planet Foods Albacore Tuna of choice, drained
- 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1-2 tbsp. Fresh Dill, chopped
- 1 tbsp. Honey
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- 1/4th Red Onion, finely chopped
- 1 Celery Stick, finely chopped
- Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the canned tuna, yogurt, chopped dill, honey, lemon juice, chopped red onion, and chopped celery. Mix well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Layer your sandwiches with the sliced cheese, sliced tomatoes, and the tuna mix.
- Heat up a griddle over medium high heat.
- Spread a generous slather of mayo on both sides of the bread, or drizzle with olive oil.
- Add the sandwiches to cook on the griddle 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy. Enjoy immediately!
